ASHRAE NY Chapter Technology Awards

The ASHRAE NY Chapter Technology Awards recognize outstanding achievements by members who have successfully applied innovative building design in the areas of occupant comfort, indoor air quality and energy conservation. Their designs incorporate ASHRAE standards for effective energy management and IAQ. Performance is proven through one year’s actual, verifiable operating data

Purpose of ASHRAE NY Chapter Technology Awards

The purpose of the ASHRAE NY Chapter  Technology Awards program is to:

  • Recognize ASHRAE members who design and/or conceive innovative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data

  • Communicate innovative systems designs to other ASHRAE members;

  • Highlight technological achievements of ASHRAE to others, including associated professionals and societies worldwide, as well as building and facility owners…



  • Entries should be submitted electronically in pdf format.  Entries are to be submitted in the following format with no more than thirteen (13) letter size (8½  x 11 inches or S-I equivalent) pages, typed (font 12 characters per inch or equivalent), 1-inch margins, to include: The Application Form is (3) pages;   A maximum of ten (10) double-spaced, typewritten sheets to address the items on page three of the Application Form. (Charts, schematics, graphics are included in the 10-page limit. All pages should be numbered.

  • The entrant (1) preferably a member (any grade) of ASHRAE, (2) must have a significant role in the project, and (3) must be willing to supply any additional information if requested by the judging panel. .

  • The entrant must submit one (1) completed application with signatures (electronic signatures are accepted).

  • The project must have been in successful operation for at least one year at the time of entry.

  • The applicant may use the short form  Tech-Award-Application Form for the Chapter and Regional programs, but must use the full Society Technology Award form for the Society program.

  • Additional information about this award may be obtained at the ASHRAE Society Website.

Please note the following submission schedule for the awards:

  • The deadline for submittals is March 30, 2019

  • Judging will be completed by about April 30, 2019

  • Awards will be presented at dinner meeting May, 2019
