President's Report
Hello ASHRAE members,
As we spring into the final quarter of our incredible year (SY2024-2025), I am filled with pride and excitement, as you all should be as well. Let’s take a moment to acknowledge the colossal strides we’ve made in SY2024-2025. This year, ASHRAE NYC has surpassed every expectation, breaking records, raising standards, and helping to educate our community about the many positive changes and present challenges that are reshaping the future of building systems in New York City (and throughout the world):
- Our attendance at chapter meetings and events has shattered historical highs. We’ve seen more members and more engagement than ever before.
- We launched groundbreaking initiatives that have further positioned ASHRAE and ASHRAE NYC Chapter as both a local and national/international leader in sustainability and energy efficiency.
- The number of programs and educational sessions we’ve hosted has reached new heights; attendance for which extends to multi-continent virtual viewers. Our commitment to professional development has led to unparalleled networking opportunities and an outpouring of enthusiasm within our community.
All of these achievements were only possible due to the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of our volunteers and Board of Governors. Thank you ASHRAE NYC team for your amazing work so far this year!
Our Gala is SOLD OUT!!! The ASHRAE NYC 2025 GALA will be held on April 11th, 2025, at Tavern on the Green. This Gala promises to be nothing short of legendary, and the continuation of a year that has set new records in more ways than one! This year we will be recognizing Scott Frank, Jake Canale and Artorius M Reyes for their outstanding contributions to our field. Scott will receive our Distinguished Service Award, Jake will receive our Rising Star Award, and Artorius M Reyes our new Member of the Year Award (which is specifically reserved for an active volunteer of ASHRAE NYC Chapter so that their contributions and efforts towards the success of our chapter may be recognized and celebrated). Congratulations Scott, Jake and Artorius!

We have successfully completed Part 2 of our Department of Buildings (DOB) Webinar Series. This webinar series, which had a record-breaking number of registrants, was a fantastic addition to our ongoing community education efforts and allows us to further support our members with critically valuable knowledge in a timely manner. We are thrilled by the turnout and positive feedback from the (many thousands of) participants. This success is a testament to the value of the information we provide and the commitment of our members to stay informed and engaged. I would like to, both personally and on behalf of ASHRAE NYC, thank the New York City (NYC) Department of Buildings (DOB) for their hard work in preparing these presentations, seamlessly handling Q&A during the live webinars, and for their proactive support in providing clear direction regarding upcoming local law compliance filing processes and scenarios. I would also like to thank the ASHRAE NYC team for their hard work and coordination in making these webinars operate so successfully. Thank you and Kudos NYC DOB and ASHRAE NYC team!
