ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Claudia Cusumano is a Director at KPF. She has 20 years of experience with civic, cultural and commercial office projects throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States. She currently serves as the Project Manager of 30 Hudson Yards, leading the management and coordination of this full service project through construction. Claudia began her career at KPF as the Technical Coordinator of the renovation and expansion of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, for which KPF acted as the Executive Architect in collaboration with renowned international architect, Yoshio Taniguchi. For 5 years, Claudia primarily focused on the renovated Edward Stone & Philip Johnson Buildings as well as the new Education Building addition. Claudia was extensively involved through all phases of the project, from programming through design, documentation and construction administration. Claudia participates in KPF’s internal peer review process where she consults teams concerning quality control and assurance.  Additionally, Claudia leads KPF’s Mentoring Program. 

Dina Silberstein, is the Founder and Principal of DJS Consulting NYC, LLC. Dina has over 12 years of experience as a real estate and construction professional. She has a diverse background including a BFA in Interior Design and an MBA in Real Estate. Prior to starting her firm, Dina worked on the following projects. Brookfield Properties’ Five Manhattan West’s building repositioning (450 West 33rd Street); GMHC’s consolidation within Five Manhattan West, FISA’s office expansion within Five Manhattan West and the construction of Brookfield Properties’ first residential tower - The Eugene (435 West 31st Street). Dina managed the renovation of Yamaha Artist Services’ (YASI) Piano Hall and office space and Specialist Staffing Solutions’ (SThree) office renovation; The Worth Collection, Ltd.’s renovation and construction of their two showroom spaces, the renovation of Morningstar Inc.’s New York offices and the renovation and consolidation of the Port Authority’s new headquarters at Four World Trade Center. Dina has experience in coordinating the review and inspection process with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Quality Assurance Division and the World Trade Center Redevelopment Department.

Eileen Shields is an Account Executive at Douglas Elliman Property Management. Currently she exclusively manages Walker Tower Condominium, a mixed-use, luxury high rise building in Chelsea. Walker Tower, originally built in 1929, was converted in 2013 into 47 luxury condominium residences and 7 floors of commercial space. The residences incorporate the building’s original design details and includes all of the conveniences of modern, upscale residential living. Her responsibilities include managing the staff, maintaining the building’s equipment, budgeting, cash management, compliance/life safety, and keeping up with the daily needs of the residents. Previous to being on site at Walker Tower, Eileen worked at Douglas Elliman Property Management’s main office. She had a portfolio of properties in the Upper East Side, Upper West side, and West Village. Prior to that, she began her career at AKF Group, working with the energy team, which focused on energy audits and retro-commissioning.

MODERATOR

Michelle DeCarlo, PE, serves as an Associate at Jaros, Baum & Bolles and is currently the Chairperson of the Women in ASHRAE Committee. Michelle has led the HVAC design for JB&B on a variety of projects, premier office buildings, airports, laboratories and healthcare facilities. She has provided expertise for notable commercial office buildings, such as the core and shell office design for 30 Hudson Yards and the commercial office redevelopment of Moynihan Station in the historic James A. Farley Building. In 2018, Michelle launched the JB&B Women’s Initiative.
