Tristan Schwartzman is a principal and head of the energy department at Goldman Copeland Associates, a firm with 50 years of history improving the energy performance of New York City Buildings. Since earning his B. Eng. from the City College of New York, he has been active in energy efficiency, currently serving on the Energy Committee of ACEC and advising the NYECC on energy and sustainability issues. In his role at Goldman Copeland Associates, he has completed energy audits and retro-commissioning projects for over 30 million square feet of commercial properties, and has led those buildings through the design and implementation of annual multi-million dollar capital improvement projects based on the findings of those reports. In addition, he has worked with the NYC government and the PSE&G to implement programs to reduce energy consumption. Tristan has given a number of presentations on retro-commissioning practices, including at the ASHRAE Winter Conference in 2016, and Buildings NY in 2018.

Our February dinner presentation topic is Retro-Commissioning for Energy Savings. Tristan will be covering local laws and DOB proposed rules.  He will also go over possible savings through the use of VFD's, Chiller optimization, and VAV conversion.
